Jim Thompson House

Jim Thompson House

This museum sits within the compound of six traditional Thai houses, surrounded by vast vegetation in the heart of Bangkok. They belonged to an American soldier-turned-businessman named James H.W. Thompson. He dedicated his life to reviving the Thai silk industry and taking it to an international level. The six teak houses display his personal collections of artifacts such as ceramics from the 12th-century Song Dynasty of China and the Lopburi Period and Buddha statues from the Thawarawadi Period. The beautiful architectural design and lush surrounding is such a comforting environment in the busy and fast-paced capital city. Many visitors find their experience at this museum of Thai history and silk one of the most memorable trips.
