M.R.Kukrit’s Heritage Home

Also known as “Baan Soi Suanplu,” M.R. Kukrit’s Heritage Home belonged to a former Prime Minister of Thailand, M.R. Kukrit Pramoj. He was also recognized as a respectable scholar and prolific author of fiction and nonfiction books on politics and arts. In 2009, UNESCO named him a World Historic Important Figure. M.R. Kukrit’s Heritage Home is located on 8,000 square meters of area and consists of five Thai traditional teakwood houses sought from Ayutthaya Province and the Giant Swing district in Bangkok. The well-conserved houses bring visitors back to the joyous old days of Bangkok, the time before the fast-paced urban development and modernity would kick in. Experience the serenity of the traditional houses, surrounded by lush gardens, and explore the valuable collections of historical artifacts that include images of Goddess Guanyin and God Guan You which were gifts from the former political leader of China, Deng Xiaoping.
