Thailand National Museum

The National Gallery is housed inside a one-hundred-year-old building that was the former Royal Mint. Designed by an Italian royal architect, the building’s attributes are formal and elegant. The Royal Mint later transformed into the National Gallery with exhibitions of traditional and contemporary visual arts by Thai and international artists. The art pieces are arranged according to their category. They portray the evolution of Thai arts since the Sukhothai Period. Rare old photographs of Bangkok and the work of Thai National Artists, as well as the photographic collection by King Rama IX, are also presented here.
